Netflix’s Yu Yu Hakusho live-action series will be released this December

Fingers crossed that this is as good as Netflix's One Piece live-action series.

It has been over a year now since the last update, but finally, Netflix revealed that the live-action Yu Yu Hakusho series will be released on December 14!

The show’s release date was revealed via Netflix’s official social media pages. Its reveal also came with a short video showing the anime’s official title.

Interestingly, despite how close the release date is, Netflix has yet to share a teaser trailer. Given that there are only two months before its release though, chances are that a trailer will be released in the coming weeks.

In case you missed it, Netflix shared the official character visuals for Yusuke, Kurama, Hiei, and Kuwabara back in July 2022. Since then, Netflix hasn’t shared any new details. At least now, fans won’t have to wait long before they get to watch it.

Yu Yu Hakusho is easily one of the most popular anime of the 90s, and it’s one that many Pinoy 90s kids grew up watching, albeit as Ghost Fighter in its Tagalog dub.

Given how popular the show is, there are many fans who aren’t too enthused about the live-action adaptation. Though there is hope that this will be good. After all, Netflix was able to successfully adapt One Piece in live-action. In fact, Netflix even said that they “took the same level of commitment to quality and authenticity in the live-action One Piece to the production of Yu Yu Hakusho.” So fingers crossed that it does live up to the original.

The Yu Yu Hakusho live-action series will be released worldwide exclusively on Netflix on December 14, 2023.
