The ONE Esports MPL Invitational (MPLI) 2023 is happening soon, and to hype up the tournament, ONE Esports revealed more details for the upcoming event. Specifically, the complete team lineup along with the tournament format was revealed.
This year’s MPLI is happening in Jakarta, and it promises to be an exciting one. Not only is MPLI going with an offline tourney this year, but it’ll also welcome teams from North America (NA), the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and China for the first time.
To start, here are the teams that will participate in the event:

As Indonesia and the Philippines are among the biggest ML countries, these two nations have the most representatives. For the Philippine delegation, MPL PH Season 12 winner AP Bren is included alongside Blacklist International, ECHO, and RSG Philippines.
The event will kick off with the Group Stage which is happening from November 15 to 16. This year, ONE Esports is introducing the new fan voting system where fans can determine the top eight teams in the first pool of the Group Stage.
The remaining eight teams will be assigned to the second pool which will be divided into Groups A to D. The matchups in the first pool are:
- First seed vs eighth seed
- Second seed vs seventh seed
- Third seed vs sixth seed
- Fourth seed vs fifth seed
Then, the remaining eight teams in the second pool will be randomly placed into Groups A to D. The Group Stage matches will be have a round-robin BO1 format, with the top two teams in each group progressing to the Playoffs.
Meanwhile, the Playoffs and Grand Final happen from November 17 to 19, at the GBK Basketball Hall in Jakarta. Each match will have a BO3 format, with the Grand Final having a BO5 format.
