ONE Store Beta Now Available

2024 is shaping up to be a fantastic year for Capcom. Other than the highly anticipated Dragon’s Dogma 2, a unique Japanese-inspired, single player Kagura Action Strategy game, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is coming sometime in 2024. Here’s everything we know about all the Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess game details that’s revealed so far.

Check out the game’s official gameplay deep dive to know more:

The game combines both action and strategy gameplay. It takes place on a mountain that’s overrun by defilement. During the day, you roam around, rescuing villagers, and preparing the area for the attacks that come at night. Setting up defenses, determining where to position your troops, and repairing what needs to be repaired. Think of it as some sort of tower defense game. Once nighttime hits, hordes of enemies will come and it is up to you to make sure that the Maiden, and the village itself is well protected. Repeat the process until the mountain is fully liberated.

What’s the story?

Set amidst the beautiful Mt. Kafuku, the sacred home of the Goddess, the story unfolds with an unexpected turn of events. Suddenly, an ominous darkness descends upon the mountain, shrouding its once-vibrant beauty in shadow. The peace of the villagers’ lives is shattered as the very essence of the mountain is corrupted by a malevolent force known as the defilement.

At the heart of this turmoil lies the theft of twelve sacred masks imbued with the divine power of the Goddess. The Maiden Yoshiro and her guardian, Soh, rise to the challenge. Armed with the power of the masks and aided by the villagers they’ve rallied to their cause, Yoshiro and Soh embark on a quest to purify the mountain and restore balance to the land.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, a new genealogy of Okami and Shinsekai: Into the Depths, will be released on Xbox Game Pass, as well as on Xbox Series X | S, Windows, PlayStation5, and Steam!
