Sekiro: No Defeat anime gets new trailer, revealing 2026 roadshow details

The Sekiro anime will be streamed in most of the world exclusively on Crunchyroll.

Following its reveal at Gamescom 2025, we finally have a new trailer for the Sekiro: No Defeat anime, which will be released this year.

This latest trailer for the Sekiro adaptation shows off more of its unique art style that looks quite different from many popular anime right now. What’s more, the trailer also features some of the anime’s main characters, including the protagonist “Wolf” aka Sekiro, the young lord Kuro, the physician Emma, and the mysterious Sculptor.

You can check out the new trailer here:

The anime’s premise is also in the trailer’s description, confirming that this is an adaptation of the Sekiro game’s story. As such, it’s no surprise that the Japanese voice cast for the game will reprise their roles in this anime.

Its premise reads:

Japan is fractured into many independent nations entangled in ceaseless war. At the center lies Ashina, a land of sacred earth and ancient mystery. Two decades after Sword Saint Isshin Ashina reclaimed the region in a brutal coup, a new threat emerges from within: The Interior Ministry. Desperate to protect his homeland, Isshin’s grandson Genichiro turns to forbidden powers. The only hope lies in a kidnapped boy — the Divine Heir — and his silent protector: a loyal shinobi known only as Sekiro.

Also revealed in the trailer is the upcoming 2026 theatrical release in Japan. There are no specific release details yet, but it’s confirmed that a special theatrical edition will be shown across Japan later this year. Plus, the trailer also previews the anime’s theme song “Blu” by Ryuichi Sakamoto.

Interestingly, there has been no official announcement on whether this anime will be a series or a movie. What we do know for certain is that the Sekiro: No Defeat anime will be streamed in most of the world exclusively on Crunchyroll.
