After confirming its launch earlier this month, Pokémon Champions has finally been released on Android and iOS devices for free.
Pokémon Champions was originally released for the Switch and Switch 2, and it’s a bit different from other Pokémon spinoffs. While most spin-off titles have unique mechanics (think Pokémon GO with its augmented reality gameplay or Pokémon Unite’s MOBA mechanics), Champions features the series’ signature turn-based Pokémon battles.
How Champions differs from the mainline series entries is that it’s focused mainly on battles, meaning there’s no exploring and capturing element. Instead, players recruit Pokémon within the game, or they can import their roster from Pokémon Home.
As with other spinoffs, Pokémon Champions is free-to-play, and it’s available now on Android and iOS via the App Store and Google Play.

To go along with its mobile release, a free update was released for the Switch 2 version. With this update, players of the Switch 2 edition will be able to enjoy better graphics.
Finally, a special in-game campaign is live now until September 22. During this campaign, players of the mobile and Switch versions can receive Raichu, Raichunite X, and Raichunite Y by checking their in-game mailbox. Players can then Mega Evolve Raichu into Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y via the new Mega Stones.
