Tokyo Game Show 2023: HoYoverse special program recap
Here's everything that went down at the HoYoverse SPECIAL PROGRAM recap at TGS 2023!
Ahead of the the Tokyo Game Show 2023 public days which start today, HoYoverse held its TGS 2023 special program online featuring showcases of its five games.
Specifically, fans were treated to new details and special appearances from cast members for these five titles: Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Tears of Themis, Honkai Impact 3rd, and Zenless Zone Zero.
In case you missed the program, here’s everything that was shared at the HoYoverse Tokyo Game Show 2023 program:
Genshin Impact
Opening the program was Genshin Impact which featured notable voice cast members Shun Horie (Japanese voice actor of Aether), Kana Ueda (Japanese voice actress of Yoimiya), Ryohei Kimura (Japanese voice actor of Tartaglia), and Sayumi Suzushiro (Japanese voice actress of Kirara) as special guests. There, they shared their experiences in Fontaine, the game’s nation that was released in Version 4.0.
Also highlighted in the event was the Version 4.1 update ahead of its release on September 27.
Honkai: Star Rail
Next is Honkai: Star Rail, the latest HoYoverse title. The online program saw apperances from Kento Ito (voice actor of Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae) alogn with NIJISANJI’s Elu as they talked about their experience with the game. Also part of the the program was a quick update on the game’s PS5 version which is set to release on October 11.
Tears of Themis
Tears of Themis also got some love during the showcase as Yuki Kaji (Japanese voice actor of Luke Pearce), Junichi Suwabe (Japanese voice actor of Artem Wing), Jun Fukuyama (Japanese voice actor of Vyn Richter), and Kaito Ishikawa (Japanese voice actor of Marius von Hagen) appeared to review some of the memorable in-game events and limited SSRs over the past year.
Honkai Impact 3rd
Perhaps the biggest highlight of the program was Honkai Impact 3rd as it shared a first look at Part 2. As for what to expect in this new part, the notable NPC Da Wei described it as:
“The second part of Honkai Impact 3rd will be a new step for the IP from the earth-moon system to the solar system. On Mars, we will start an adventure as a native of Mars, experience Mars’ brand-new natural and humanistic scenery, and encounter new friends from different cultural backgrounds,”
Zenless Zone Zero
Zenless Zone Zero is the long-awaited next game from HoYoverse, and at the program, Yuka Iguchi (Japanese voice actress of Koleda) and Yumi Igarashi (Japanese actress cast of Corin) appeared to give fans more info on the game’s setting of New Eridu. Plus, it was confirmed that Zenless Zone Zero will get a console release in the future.
HoYoCreators Brand Reveal
Finally, HoYoverse shared a concept video for HoYoCreators. As its name implies, this is a brand that’s made to help build a creator ecosystem as it will introduce a range of activities that promise to help creators who play HoYoverse titles. Though for now, there’s no info yet on what these activities will be.
The special program isn’t the only thing that HoYoverse has in store for fans though as TGS 2023 public day attendees will be treated to a massive booth were gameplay demos can be tried. Plus, exclusive freebies will also be up for grabs.
Tokyo Game Show 2023’s public days are happening today and tomorrow, September 23 and 24, at Makuhari Messe.
