Magic: The Gathering is celebrating the game’s upcoming 30th anniversary by going back to its roots and returning to Dominaria, a fan-favorite plane rich in history and lore.

The next expansion this September, Dominaria United sees the return of Phyrexians – amalgamated creatures composed of both organic matter and artifice that once corrupted the plane. Thought to be defeated, based on previous sets such as Kaldheim, it seems that Yawgmoth’s creations are back to finish what they started, and this time with the aid of “compleated” planeswalkers like Tamiyo and Ajani.

I said this before, but one of the best formats from recent memory that the designers at Wizards of the Coast has created by far, is Jumpstart. If I would introduce someone into playing some tangible, paper Magic: The Gathering… Hands down, Jumpstart is the way to go! Based heavily on a popular board game called Smash-Up!, in this format players combine two, 20 card themed decks making it into one unique deck.

It effectively simplified the deck-building aspect of the game while still retaining the core Magic: The Gathering mechanics we all know and love. Kudos to the design team over at Wizards of the Coast for making this variant and giving this an evergreen print run – making this in tandem with their upcoming sets, in this case Dominaria United.

With that said, Wizards of the Coast just revealed the names and contents of all ten Dominaria United Jumpstart Boosters, which can be seen below:
