A new Dragon Quest Monsters game in development for the Switch

A new Dragon Quest Monsters game is currently in development for the Nintendo Switch, just in time for the game’s 25th anniversary.

This new comes directly from Square Enix, and they shared a short trailer below.

The trailer states to“ get ready for a new adventure” and that the game is still in the development stage.

For those wondering, the very first Dragon Quest Monsters game was released in 1998 for the Game Boy Color. This was the franchise’s answer to Pokemon which was ahead of the pack in the genre of monster collecting and battling. The game is in line with their popular RPG of the same title.

Additionally, it might be helpful to know that in the west the game is known as Dragon Warrior Monsters when it was released previously.
